GCAB YWLS Co-Chairs’ Letter

As co-chairs, we are honored to lead an exceptional group of volunteers, mentors and committee members who are committed to supporting the Texas Diversity Councils’ mission of promoting diversity and inclusiveness. The 2015 Gulf Coast Young Women’s Leadership Symposium is an event that furthers that mission by reaching out to 8th girls in Houston and the surrounding areas by empowering them with resources and insights to help them achieve their goals. We hope to plant a seed of inspiration that will help grow future leaders in our community. We also hope to serve as a catalyst to help inspire the girls to take an active role in planning out their futures.

The women who are serving as mentors and speakers have achieved high statures in their professional endeavors and will serve as a testament to our young future leaders. In line with this year’s theme, “Empowering Young Women with Tools to Become Leaders of Tomorrow”, speakers and mentors will serve as an example of what is means to exemplify determination and overcoming obstacles.

We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed in making this year’s event a success. Whether you are a committee member, volunteer, sponsor, mentor or speaker your efforts will not go unnoticed. On behalf of the Texas Diversity Council, we thank you and your efforts are highly appreciated. We cannot wait to see all of the bright and smiling faces at the symposium and we welcome you on Saturday, March 28, 2015.
