Houston native Cathy Hernandez joined KPRC 2 News as a reporter in June 2015. Cathy previously worked as a reporter at KDVR-TV in Denver, Colorado, where she covered the state legislature and the legalization of marijuana. Before Colorado, Cathy was a reporter and anchor at KTSM-TV in El Paso, Texas. She covered immigration issues, politician corruption and Fort Bliss, including a visit there from President Barack Obama. Cathy began her TV news career as an associate producer at KPRC 2 for three years. She graduated from Galena Park High School and earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Houston. In her spare time, Cathy loves cheering on the Texans and Cougars, enjoying the outdoors, volunteering in the community and spending time with family and friends. |
